This past weekend I took a day off and drove to Indianapolis, IN to visit one of my Sorority sisters from college. Indianapolis is generally not one of those places, like Chicago, people expect you to say when you’re headed out for a long weekend. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is a beautiful and amazing city! We got a bit caught up living out our glory days, but we were still able to enjoy an outside concert, brunch in the city and revel in all that is midwest America.
Highlights of the trip include:
- A visit to the Colonel Eli Lilly Civil War museum at the bottom of the Soldiers and Sailors Monument.
- Brunch at Mesh on Mass – 725 Massachusetts Avenue, Indianapolis IN 46204
- All day pool party at a local apartment complex
- Bar hopping in Broad Ripple
The next time I go, we plan on being much more productive. It was a fun escape and I learned that driving through the midwest country side with your windows down and Jason Aldean’s ‘Fly Over States‘ playing on the radio can cure any post-college hangover.
